Promoting Inclusivity in Schools through digital enabled learning: Incrent Levison’s inspiring story
In a world where access to education remains a challenge for many, at Computers for Enhanced Education (CEE), we believe in the transformative power of technology to uplift disadvantaged communities. Our partnership with Chisema Baptist Pvt School exemplifies this mission, demonstrating how innovative learning solutions can make a profound difference in the lives of children. Established from the Chisema Baptist Sunday School with the support of Chisema Baptist Church and Fishers, Trainers and Senders (FTS), this community-driven initiative has enrolled 174 children this year, spanning early childhood development through grade six.
One of the most inspiring stories to emerge from Chisema Baptist Pvt School is that of Incrent Levison, a brilliant student facing the challenge of a physical impairment that limits his ability to write. Traditional Classroom learning methods posed significant barriers, threatening his educational journey. Incrent’s situation highlighted a critical need for adaptive solutions that cater to the unique needs.
Recognizing the need for adaptive educational tools, CEE donated a specially designed computer to Incrent. This device features accessibility enhancements specifically tailored for children with special needs, allowing him to engage with his studies in ways previously thought impossible.
Incrent’s progress has been nothing short of remarkable. Initially met with scepticism—many wondered how he would manage the mouse and keyboard—Incrent quickly demonstrated his capabilities. The headteacher remarked, “His success has defied expectations. Incrent is using the computer with incredible skill.”
With this new technology, Incrent has not only kept up with his classmates, but has also developed a newfound enthusiasm for learning. His mother expressed gratitude, stating:
“This opportunity is rare for children like Incrent. We are overjoyed to see him thrive.”
Despite the long journey he undertakes to school, Incrent’s commitment is unwavering; he rarely misses a day of class. His story has inspired teachers, classmates, and the entire community, fostering a culture of inclusion and determination.
The success of Incrent’s story has resonated throughout the community, inspiring both parents and students. The headteacher noted that the school is now more committed than ever to ensuring that all children, regardless of their abilities, receive the support they need to succeed. This shift not only enhances educational outcomes but also fosters a culture of inclusivity and acceptance. The collaboration between CEE and Turing Trust at Chisema Baptist Pvt School exemplifies the profound impact of technology in promoting equitable education. Incrent Levison’s journey from struggle to success underscores a vital message: with the right support, every child can reach their full potential. As the school continues to grow and evolve, it stands as a testament to the power of community-driven initiatives in creating lasting change
The partnership between CEE and Turing Trust at Chisema Baptist Pvt School is reshaping the educational landscape for disadvantaged children. Incrent Levison’s journey illustrates that with the right resources, disability is truly not an inability. Together, we are breaking barriers and paving the way for a brighter future, ensuring that every child has the chance to reach their full potential.
At CEE, we are committed to continuing this vital work, empowering communities through technology and fostering an environment where every child can shine.
